Our Story

On Tuesday, March 17th, 2020, Dave Kerpen's mom passed away at the age of 79. Losing your mom is very difficult to deal with. But losing your mom during a global pandemic, when she's quarantined in Los Angeles with her husband, you're quarantined in NYC, and your brother is quarantined in Washington DC? It's simply impossible.

Fortunately, Dave's wife and friends, led by Sam Nesbitt, stepped in immediately with a solution: Host a virtual, online memorial service for Dave's mom Rayni.

In just 2 days, Sam built a beautiful tribute website, and with Sam's help, Dave hosted an online memorial service attended by over 300 friends and family, and a virtual shiva attended by over 400 people.

A few days later, Dave and Sam realized that many other families would be grieving at this time, and unable to connect to loved ones physically. So they built and launched Remembering.Live to help you, a grieving family, during your time in need.

"When my mother passed away during the onset of the pandemic, I was completely lost. I have family all over the country and I had no way to honor her in the way we are all accustomed. Remembering.Live made the hardest thing I've ever had to do and figure out easy and painless. They have brought us closure; they gave me a light in the darkness." - Dessie C
